Songs from here, Songs of Hope and a prestigious appointment at the Peralada Festival
Veus – Cor Infantil Amics de la Unió begins 2025 with a vibrant program full of artistic challenges. Cançons d’aquí will open the season at L’Auditori de Llinars del Vallès (09/02) and can also be seen at L’Auditori de Barcelona (15/02) and the Auditori de Bellavista (09/03) . This concert is a tribute to Catalan choral music and will include a special recognition of the Granollers maestro Josep Maria Ruera , in commemoration of the 125th anniversary of his birth . The program will include the a cappella performance of ‘La nostra dansa’ and the ‘Suite catalana’, two works that celebrate the composer’s legacy.
In addition to this tribute, ‘Cançons d’aquí’ presents a repertoire with works by contemporary Catalan composers such as Bernat Vivancos, Anna Capmany and Vila Cassañas , among others. Pianist Paul Perera will accompany the choir in several pieces. This concert has been chosen to inaugurate the Cervera Easter Festival (12/04) , one of the most important festivals in the country dedicated to Catalan classical music.
In the spring, the choir will resume the Songs of Hope tour (22/03 in Vilassar de Dalt) , with the incorporation of new pieces into the repertoire, remaining faithful to the groundbreaking essence of this show.
Finally, one of the most outstanding events of the season will be the participation of Veus in the prestigious Peralada Festival (17/04) . On this occasion, the choir will have the honor of performing the choral part of the Miserere in C minor by Johann Adolph Hasse , alongside the ‘Vespres d’Arnadí’ orchestra and under the direction of Dani Espasa . This performance, which will take place in the Església del Carme del Castell de Peralada , represents a demanding challenge for the formation and a great opportunity to consolidate itself within the professional choral panorama.
